Community Success Stories
We held a couple of very successful Easter events, an Easter Egg Hunt around Chadwell with the Chadwell Scout Group helping, an Arts and Craft session and a Raffle with some really nice prizes.
Everyone had a really good time including the Scout Group and all the volunteers on the day.
A big thank you to all the parents and especially to all the children who turned up to make the event such a success.
We would also want to thank David and Elizabeth Veitch, the Chadwell Scout Group, and the local companies that kindly contributed towards the raffle prizes. You can see the list of the companies on our Sponsors Page. (Opens a new window.)

Children enjoyed making things
Children and adults having fun in the Scouts hall
We had a fun time with the childrens art and craft session in the morning.
The theme was of course Haloween with cutting out and colouring in. We also made a spiders web and a spider to go on it!
In the afternoon we had a bring and buy sale, home made cakes, hunt the spiders game and a story time about the adventures of a very young witch.
Well done to all our volunteers who spent their time creating the cakes, spiders and everything else to make it such a success. Also the volunteers who came along on the day to ensure the event went smoothly. And lastly thanks to all the parents and the children for having so much fun.
We held out first summer BBQ in August 2015 to raise our profile of the Centre. We also managed to raise £165 for our funds. We was blessed by the weather, it was a warm and sunny day.

The Centre celebrated their first year with tea and cake. A big thank you to all those who made the cakes. The volunteers were handed their Volunteer Certificates.
Bake Sale Success
On Thursday the 9th April 2015, we held a bake sale to raise funds for the Jane Packer foundation. With a donation of £50 from the Chadwell Community Forum we managed to raise over £167.83 for the foundation! Very well done to everyone involved.

Macmillan Coffee Morning
In October 2014 the Centre hosted a coffee morning to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. The turn out was excellent and £150.39 was raised.
Thanks to Annette Lewis for organising the event and all the Centre volunteers for their efforts.
Chadwell Centre Garden
We have had a new bird house installed in our garden in September. It was built and installed by Jeff Loton. As you can see in the photo it is a really nice addition to the garden.
The Centre has managed to fund a new raised bed
garden. The raised beds have been built,
paths built, new benches and a picnic table have been added. The work on the garden was commissioned to a local landscape gardening company T. Perrin & Sons. The raised bed garden will
particularly benefit the not so nimble members of the community. The Board
members are planning to add plants that will also suit the visual impaired. The
project is progressing well with the next stage is to plant the garden.
A magnificent display of blossom was enjoyed in April. The garden has now been planted with shrubs. The vegetable garden is now producing some early vegetables.
The next phase of the garden project is to install some more raised beds along the rear of the library.
The raised beds along the rear of the library have now been installed.
The garden continues to impress with the planting and tender care given to it by our volunteer gardeners.
Childrens Activity Session
We held our 3rd activity session in April. The children had a wonderful time creating things, painting and colouring in.
We have more sessions planned for later this year.
