 CRAFTY cHATTERS

Every Thursday
10am to 1pm

Love to knit and free on Thursday? Come along and join in with some knitting, crochet etc. Bring along your own knitting or join in with knitting for the Premature Baby Unit at Basildon Hospital and this year's Poppy Appeal.  If you unable to knit, new to knitting or experienced knitters, come and join us. (Any donation of wool or knitting needles are appreciated for people who do not have these items).

Poppies for the Legion!
Volunteers at the Chadwell St Mary Centre hand-knitted poppies and sold them to raise money for 2015’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal; this well-known cause has provided a variety of facilities for ex-Servicemen and Servicewomen for many years and is close to the heart of all communities.

This year, the volunteers will be making their poppies again to sell in support of the Poppy appeal, and they hope to beat the amount they raised last time. Look out for their poppies in the Centre, they are a momento as well as a fund-raiser!
